As reasonably expected this season, the NFL had to move some things around. It’s a good thing to know that there are plans in place to prioritize health and safety over schedule and so this week we get an opportunity to see those ideas executed, which means there are two Monday night games today.
Patriots-Chiefs had to be postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test for New England quarterback Cam Newton, who will be inactive tonight. Brian Hoyer will make his first ever start for the Patriots despite the fact that this is his sixth season under Bill Belichick. Hoyer started one game for the Colts last season and he went 0-6 as a starter for the 49ers in 2017. Kansas City is first in plays per drive and second in points and yards per drive, meaning things are rolling as expected.
KC-NE kicks off at 4:05 p.m. PT on CBS.
Falcons coach Dan Quinn has to be running out of road on his job any day now but a win over the offensively dominant Packers in Green Bay would once again give him hope. It is true that Aaron Rodgers has the Packers scoring at historically significant levels but Green Bay has had struggles defensively and Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley can at least do something with that opportunity.
ATL-GB has been moved to 5:50 p.m. PT on ESPN.
