The LA Rams have yet to see the player who could have been their best free agent signing of the year, but that might change soon. According to Rams reporter J.B. Long, head coach Sean McVay says that defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson will join the team in practice this week and that he hopes Robinson will be able to play “in the next couple weeks.”
The Rams play the Chicago Bears next Monday night and then travel to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 before they head into their bye, but Robinson is on the non-football injury list and isn’t eligible to play in a game until Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaking about the potential debut of DT A’Shawn Robinson, Sean McVay sounded optimistic tonight: “Maybe in the next couple weeks.”

Ramping up practice in the coming days. I was surprised it was even a possibility before the bye. So that’s encouraging.
LA signed Robinson to a three-year deal in March after four seasons with the Detroit Lions. Robinson, a 2016 second round pick out of Alabama, missed three games in each of his last two seasons with the Lions before becoming a free agent. The Rams envision Robinson as their premier option at nose tackle to play alongside Aaron Donald.
The team has been using Sebastian Joseph-Day in the interim.
Robinson averaged 33 tackles, one sack and three QB hits over his previous two seasons.
