Jared Goff and the passing game struggled early and the defense struggled to get to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo all night as they dropped their first divisional game of the year in a 24-16 loss to the 49ers on Sunday night in Santa Clara.

Goff completed just 19-of-38 passes for 198 yards and two scores and an interception. Darrell Henderson led the team in rushing with 88 yards on 14 carries while Tyler Higbee recorded a team-high 56 receiving yards on three receptions. Micah Kiser and John Johnson each finished with 13 total tackles.

49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went 23-of-33 for 268 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, while running back Raheem Mostert had 65 yards on 17 attempts. And to the surprise of nobody, all-pro tight end George Kittle led the way with seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. San Francisco receiver Deebo Samuel had six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.

The Rams are now 4-2 and the 49ers improve to 3-3. The Seahawks lead the division at 5-0.
