Dare I say it? Has Monday Night Football been worse than Thursday Night Football this year?
Yet again this week, we have a premier matchup with the 1-2 Philadelphia Eagles heading to Wisconsin to take on an undefeated 3-0 Green Bay Packers team.
For the Eagles, this one is approaching must-win status. A loss punts them to 1-3 with a three-game road stretch looming in Weeks 6-8 against the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills who have a combined record of 8-1. If this isn’t must-win, it’s pretty close.
For the Packers, they’re off to a fine start under new Head Coach and former Los Angeles Rams Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleur though surprisingly, much like the Rams this year, it’s the defense that’s propping up the offense en route to the 3-0 start. Green Bay got a huge win in Week 1 over the Chicago Bears on the road before handing the Vikings their only loss and then dropping the Denver Broncos. The Pack’s defense has given up just 35 points in three games.
