Funky one tonight. The 0-1 Cleveland Browns and all that offseason hype (which might already be dead and buried) head to NYC to take on the 0-1 New York Jets.
The Jets are dealing with some personnel issues with QB Sam Darnold out with mono (flashback to my freshman year of college...) and rookie star DL Quinnen Williams out with an ankle injury. They also have seven players listed as “questionable.” That designation is supposed to adhere to players who have a 50% chance or so of playing, so we’ll see how many if any are ruled out.
The Browns have two starting defenders out to injury in LB Adarius Taylor and S Damarious Randall, but the real story is the potential bounceback. After getting trounced in Week 1 by the Tennessee Titans, 43-13, the NFL world is watching to see what the Browns look like tonight. Is the defense really THAT bad? And that offensive hype up between QB Baker Mayfield and WR Odell Beckham Jr. certainly didn’t pay major dividends.
The Browns next game after this one? A Week 3 Sunday Night Football showdown with the Los Angeles Rams.
