Los Angeles Rams add UDFA rookie G Abdul Beecham to offensive line

With a week left to go in the preseason, the Rams added some depth on the offensive line.

The Los Angeles Rams have added another name to their offensive line — rookie RG Abdul Beecham. The underrated free agent from Kansas State was signed this afternoon.

Beecham brings a rather balanced set of skills to the offensive line. ProFootballFocus graded him as one of their Top 5 Power Guards for pass-blocking last summer.

In two of his last three seasons, Beecham was a part of an offensive line that allowed for Kansas State’s offense to reach some big rushing milestones. During the 2016 season, the Wildcats set a school record for yards per-carry. Two seasons later, the offensive line helped RB Alex Barnes led the Big 12 conference in rushing yards with 1,355 yards. The Wildcats hadn’t led the conference in rushing since 2010.

Beecham started in 11 of his final 12 games at Kansas State and played in 33 games altogether with the Wildcats. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in June after he was invited to their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. But was waived on Aug. 20.

This late in the preseason, it’s not likely Beecham will be around long. So, I would advise you hold off on purchasing a jersey for the time being. While this seems like a decent depth pickup, not everyone is thrilled.
