After impressing teams by hitting 55-yard field goals on narrower posts than NFL field goal posts, an NFL team has actually offered Carli Lloyd the opportunity to be placed on their roster for the Thursday night preseason game (game four) as a tryout, and Lloyd says she’s really considering it. What on Earth is going on here.
Free agent QB Brock Osweiler visited the Colts yesterday, per source. Indy is doing some QB due diligence following Andrew Luck’s retirement.

Somehow, someway, quarterback Brock Osweiler is still getting NFL opportunities. This obviously comes in to play since the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck.
Trade: Jets dealing a 2020 6th-round pick to the Colts for CB Nate Hairston, per source. Hairston started 11 games the past two years. Still has two years left on his contract.

We’ve got a trade! The New York Jets acquired CB Nate Hairston for a sixth-round draft pick headed to the Indianapolis Colts. Talking about trading cornerbacks, shouldn’t the Los Angeles Rams be in this market? Their secondary is littered with talented players who’ll be cut otherwise.
#49ers GM John Lynch on @KNBR said “yesterday was not encouraging” as far as RB Jerick McKinnon’s return to practice. Lynch indicated he had another setback.
— Eric Branch (@Eric_Branch) August 28, 2019
Jerick McKinnon suffered a torn ACL in 2018, ultimately losing his entire season. Unfortunately for McKinnon and the San Francisco 49ers, the injury seems to have carried over to 2019 with a real possibility of him being shelved on injured reserve once again.
Chargers’ 53-man projection has RB Melvin Gordon ending holdout
That’s great news for the Los Angeles Chargers, if the projection comes true. Gordon is a big piece of their offense, and although running backs aren’t as important as they once were, having one of the better backs in the league simply wont hurt.
Where Dolphins’ roster stands before cut day
The Miami Dolphins are currently in talks with the Houston Texans, potentially acquiring edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney. With that being said, the Dolphins could potentially let go of two productive linebackers in Kiko Alonso and/or Raekwon McMillan, making the Rams a potential suitor based off the injury to Micah Kiser.
