The New Orleans Saints are set to activate star DT Sheldon Rankins off the Physically Unable to Perform list after tearing his Achilles in the NFC Divisional Playoff against the Philadelphia Eagles:

It’s a notable and relevant update for Los Angeles Rams fans as Rankins would seemingly then be ready for Week 2 of the regular season when the Rams host the Saints in the Coli.

As noted, Rankins got hurt against the Eagles, so his missed the NFC Championship a week later. His inclusion will make things more difficult for the Rams’ interior line which will feature two new members with OL Joseph Noteboom replacing OL Rodger Saffold III at left guard and C Brian Allen replacing C John Sullivan at center.

Week 2 didn’t need anything else to add to the intrigue given how things went in the NFC Championship.

Here’s hoping the Rams don’t need to “put that boy on a motherfuckin’ Waffle House frying pan.”
