We’re officially into preseason football, and that means focusing on the back end of the Los Angeles Rams’ roster. I tried to focus on different players than I did last week, but there will inevitably be some repeat offenders here.
EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
This guy just can’t stay healthy.
I can’t help but think that Okoronkwo will be gone soon if he can’t shake injuries. He missed his entire rookie season and can’t stay healthy enough in camp to make an impression during camp.
He’s starting to remind me of another Oklahoma Sooner turned Ram - and that’s no bueno.
WR KhaDarel Hodge
Where Okoronkwo may be playing his way off the team from the pine pony, Hodge is out there making an impact and making Mike Thomas sweat a bit for the 5th - and possibly final - WR spot on the roster.
Hodge looks crisp when on the field and could have an impact as a depth piece in the receiving corps.
QB Brandon Allen
This isn’t much of a stretch. Allen didn’t look good against the Raiders and it’s well known that QB Blake Bortles will be Jared Goff’s backup. There isn’t much of a need to carry 3 QBs in today’s NFL and even if the Rams decided to be an anomaly in that respect, Allen looks overwhelmed and they would likely look elsewhere.
