Clear your throat.

Close your eyes.

Ascend the mountain and yell...

FOOTBALL IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

The 2019 preseason kicks off tonight with the 2019 Hall of Fame Game between the Atlanta Falcons vs. Denver Broncos.

It’s not a game without impact on the Los Angeles Rams. Perhaps most relevant is that the Rams play the Broncos in what will be our third preseason game but their fourth three weeks from Saturday. So in terms of gauging the Rams’ depth, we’re going to see the guys they’re going to go up against tonight. Given how little the Rams starters will play in the preseason if at all, it’s more central to our depth. It’s helpful then that Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio has already said most of the starters won’t even play tonight. I didn’t see anything similarly declarative from Falcons HC Dan Quinn, but I’d expect little from their starters tonight. That’s why I’m not sure there’s a ton to take away that might impact the Week 7 game between the Rams and the Falcons in the regular season.

It will be interesting to see how the Falcons manage their offensive line rotation having signed two linemen in free agency including former Rams RG Jamon Brown only to then spend their top two picks in the 2019 NFL Draft on linemen.

The big draw from the Broncos’ side will be QB Drew Lock, the 42nd pick of the draft. The former Missouri Tigers QB has tons of pressure to end General Manager John Elway’s horrendous track record of quarterback personnel decisions since Peyton Manning’s retirement.
