Next man up on the Los Angeles Rams’ 90-man roster is our second-year defensive back out of Oklahoma St., Ramon Richards.
Richards made his way out to LA as an UDFA rookie last year. For the majority of the year, Richards found himself on the practice squad.
To make it in LA in 2019, Richards will need to make a greater impression.
Roster Battle
Though a safety at OSU, the Rams have Ramon listed as a cornerback. That designation thrusts him into a heavily contested — and congested — roster battle.
With the top four or five corner spots pretty much called for, Ramon’s opportunities at making the final roster are slim. He’ll have to tussle it out with the likes of Darious Williams (roster preview), Dont’e Deayon (roster preview), Dominique Hatfield, Kevin Peterson and hell, maybe even Troy Hill.
Expectations
It is hard to say. He was a practice squad player in 2018. He should have his eyes set on cracking the mid-tier depth chart and securing a special teams’ role.
Chances of Making the Final Roster (3/10)
It is hard seeing Ramon carving out a niche on this Rams squad. It is too deeply loaded.
