The Los Angeles Rams are making lots of friends during training camp this year.
We already knew they would be having two practices with the Los Angeles Chargers in early August.
Today, the Oakland Raiders confirmed that the Rams will head up north for two practices on August 7 and 8 in Napa, California, ahead of the two teams’ preseason opener on Saturday, August 10.
The Rams did the same thing last year in two practices with the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2018 preseason opening game.
Two interesting wrinkles.
One, the Raiders are the featured team on HBO’s Hard Knocks this preseason. So there’s a decent chance we’ll get to see some of the Rams on the second episode.
And second, this is the Raiders’ last season in Oakland before relocating to Las Vegas for 2020 with a training camp relocation expected as well. The Raiders have held camp in Napa since 1996, their second season after relocating from LA to Oakland. Last year, there were reports that Reno was the leading candidate to host the Raiders moving forward. So as the final camp in Napa, local crowds are sure to be interested in general let alone to see joint practices with a team coming out of the Super Bowl.
So mark your calendars, Rams fans.
