2019 Los Angeles Rams roster preview: RB Matt Colburn faces uphill battle

Rams running backs not named Todd Gurley are just seeking opportunity. Former Demon Deacon Colburn likely won’t find much.

Los Angeles Rams running backs not named Todd Gurley hope to take advantage of the weird situation the Rams are dealing with heading into 2019 atop their running back depth chart. In order to hedge their risk, the Rams selected RB Darrell Henderson in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft and matched a two-year offer sheet for RB Malcolm Brown.

Now, rookie undrafted free agent RB Matt Colburn looks to try and make his mark in camp and the preseason. On the Rams with two other Wake Forest Demon Deacons in QB John Wolford (roster preview) and WR Alex Bachman, Colburn faces an uphill battle to make the roster with his other former collegiate teammates.

Roster Battle

Unfortunately for Colburn, this is a crazy uphill battle.

There is no real roster battle here unless something unpredictable occurs or Colburn proves to be a special teams superstar.

Expectations

Very slim. May get some carries in the preseason with Gurley likely not to see a single snap.

Chances of Making Roster (1/10)

Barring something ridiculous happening to Gurley, Brown or Henderson, Colburn does not have a legit chance at making the 53-man roster.
