2019 Los Angeles Rams roster preview: QB John Wolford has everything behind him in front of him

Let’s begin with the Rams’ quarterback. No, not that one.

Much of the Los Angeles Rams’ 2019 season will come down to the play at the quarterback position.

Nobody expects that to come down to QB John Wolford. That’s not to say the Ed Sheeran lookalike’s story is over. Anything but. The quarterback position is valuable enough and volatile enough to make the unthinkable legitimate.

But for Wolford to make an NFL roster in 2019, it’s going to require the unthinkable.

Roster Battle

Unfortunately for Wolford, this aspect is inapplicable here.

There is no battle.

Jared Goff is the starting Rams quarterback. And Blake Bortles will back him up. And there just isn’t any room beyond that.

Expectations

No. Just no.

Chances of Making Roster (0/10)

No, but Wolford at least had perhaps the best moment out of organized team activities:

During the special teams period to begin Monday’s practice, quarterbacks were working with coaches on the second field. Reserve quarterback John Wolford actually made a one-handed grab while fielding a throw from backup QB Blake Bortles. Bortles was practicing a play-action pass and threw it over the middle of the field, where Wolford stuck his left hand out and snatched it for a nice grab.

We’ll always have that moment.

Until we don’t.
