Apologies for the delay today, folks. Some technical difficulties prevented me from getting these out earlier today.
We’re officially in the dead period between free agency and the 2019 NFL draft, but the NFL machine never sleeps.
Russell Wilson’s potential extension and why it’s important for the Rams and Jared Goff
With the no really big headlines, the mainstream media seems intent on digging into the QB market and what Russell Wilson’s potential extension means for any QB nearing the end of their contract.
The most telling bit of information in either of those articles:
The Rams could go year to year with Goff, who would make about $60 million or so over the next three campaigns. The Gurley extension suggests they aren’t worried about paying market value to a player if they think he’s a star, even if it means giving away their leverage in the process.
No big surprises here. The Rams still need to replace OL Rodger Saffold as well as NT Ndamukong Suh and the pass rush will still need augmented as it has absolutely no long term solutions.
Five scenarios for the Rams first 3 rounds
If you’re a fan of really digging into different scenarios for the draft, this is a pretty good read. Also, if you’d like to put your armchair GM hat on, this is pretty nifty.
Rams veteran leaders ready to get back to work
LT Andrew Whitworth and WR Robert Woods are itching to get back into the action - which is excellent news for the Rams. Whitworth is known to set the example and it seems like Woods is ready to help him carry that torch.
Are the San Francisco 49ers biggest threat in the NFC West?
NFL network says yes, but it’s never a good idea to sleep on the Seattle Seahawks
