Following a seemingly successful draft that answered a ton of questions facing the 2019 Los Angeles Rams, Les Snead and Co. kept burning the midnight oil to sign a diverse group of 14 undrafted free agents.
#LARams agree to terms with 14 undrafted free agents
— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) April 29, 2019
The Rams signed five WR/TE, three interior lineman, three linebackers, two DTs, and a running back. The Rams clearly targeted current and future roster gaps when pursuing undrafted free agents.
The interior OL, LBs, and DTs all fit current gaps while the RB and TE signing signal the Rams looking at the long term health of the offense. We’re all tracking the issues with Just Todd Gurley’s knee and Tyler Higbee will be a free agent next year. I’m not saying that any of these players will develop into replacement and/or solid backups, but it shows that the Rams are being proactive in building the long-term stability of the roster.
