The Los Angeles Rams felt comfortable trading back on Day 1 of the 2019 NFL Draft, sending the 31st overall pick (along with pick No. 203 in the 6th round) to the Atlanta Falcons in return for picks No. 45 and 79. And with the way things were shaking out to start Round 2, the Rams felt comfortable moving back again — trading with the New England Patriots. In return they received picks 56 and 101. And then, just when you thought they couldn’t possibly do it again, they traded pick 56 to the Kansas City Chiefs, moving down five spots to 61 and also adding pick 167.
And with pick 61 - their first of what looks to be FIVE selections on Friday evening - the Rams have taken Washington safety Taylor Rapp.
SB Nation’s resident draft expert Dan Kadar has Rapp listed as his No. 65 overall player on his Top 200 list of prospects.
Biggest strength: Rapp is quick to read the play and is a sound tackler, especially when he can come up and play in the box.
Biggest weakness: With average-at-best workout numbers, you have to wonder how Rapp will fare against a higher level of athleticism in the NFL.
How are you grading this selection for the Rams? (The poll below will be stripped out on Google AMP and Apple News, but feel free to leave your grade/thoughts in the comments section)
