Brett Kollman breaks down film of Los Angeles Rams CB Aqib Talib

The Rams invested a late-round pick in the eccentric veteran corner, and the numbers tell us that the gamble wasn’t so much of a gamble.

March 8th, 2018.

That was the day the Los Angeles Rams decided enough wasn’t enough. After already trading for star CB Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs, they identified CB Aqib Talib as another potential star to add to Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips’ defense, though he wouldn’t cost nearly as much. The Denver Broncos and Rams worked out a trade for the eccentric yet nearly legendary corner, and that only cost the Rams a measly fifth-round pick.

Talib is a Super Bowl champion (Super Bowl 50), a five-time pro bowler, a two-time All-Pro, and simply one of the most productive (and entertaining) corners to play this game.

Brett Kollman — who writes for our resident Houston Texans blog over at Battle Red Blog — shares his film breakdown on the star corner, and it’s a fantastic piece that I urge you to watch.

The Rams are prepared to face-off against Talib’s former employer, and the dependable veteran will play a big part in helping the Rams achieve the ultimate goal in Super Bowl 53.
