Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks: Win/loss predictions for Week 14

With the season on the line, will the LA Rams take care of business against the Seahawks in primetime?

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

This could be it for the Los Angeles Rams in the 2019-2020 season. A loss against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football in Week 14 could effectively end their hopes of a second straight run at the Lombardi.

The Rams can’t afford to make mistakes this weekend. Can they execute in all three phases in this prime time matchup and stay in the chase for a wild card spot?

The key to this game will be the Rams defense stopping the Seachickens on 1st down. This will force the Seachickens into a more predictable down and distance on 2nd and 3rd downs. Russell Wilson is most effective when the situation leans towards a more unpredictable down and distances. Stop the run and the Rams defensive line will get to the quarterback and with a few 3 and outs, the Rams offense should be able to put up points on Seachickens defense, scoring touchdowns in the red zone, not field goals. If the Rams do this, it’s in the bag. It’s my opinion that this will be the Rams finest moment. They will be victorious, putting on a display before a national TV audience worthy of calling themselves the 2018 NFC Champs, ready to defend its crown and primed for the playoffs. I’m really looking forward to this blowout.

Prediction: Rams win, 35-13

This will be one of the Rams’ toughest matchups down the stretch. The Seahawks are vying to protect their divisional lead. The Rams are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. They’ll have a tough time limiting Wilson. Limiting their ground game. Limiting their explosive receivers. But that is why I am a Rams fan. I have hopes they will limit the Seahawks, pose a stiff test, and ultimately usurp the divisional rival.

Prediction: Rams win, 31-27

The Rams really truly looked liked the Rams...against the league’s worst defense. Let’s see it against better competition. Reverse jinx in full effect!

Prediction: Seahawks win, 24-20

The Rams must win this game. No more traps or disappointments. This is the season, right here. Goff needs to step up and outplay QB Russell Wilson if the Rams are gong to be best the 10-2 Seahawks. This game is that big.

Prediction: Seahawks win, 17-13

The Rams playoff hopes hang in the balance as they host the Seahawks this weekend. Logic says that the Rams will struggle against one of the best teams in the NFL, but I’m not ready to admit that we could miss the playoffs. Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald will put the team on their backs and make sure that we have hope for at least one more week.

Prediction: Rams win, 24-23

These two opponents know each other incredibly well. For the Seahawks, the NFC West crown is on the line. For the Rams, a playoff berth is on the line. The games between these two opponents have largely been incredibly close, with one absolute blowout when the Rams simply dominated the Seahawks at their home in 2017. The Rams are a different team than the one the Seahawks seen in Week 5, as are the Seahawks. The Rams have established themselves as an offense still looking for a true identity (though it feels more run-centric), and a defense that has largely played lights out (sans the Baltimore Ravens game). CB Jalen Ramsey is a new addition and will surely be helpful in covering WR’s D.K. Metcalf, Josh Gordon (new addition), and Tyler Lockett. As for the offensive side of the ball, the Rams need to run Todd Gurley until his legs are detached. Ultimately, the Rams have a lot more invested in this contest and were a 48-yard Greg Zuerlein field goal away from beating the Seahawks in their first contest on the road. This one needs to end differently if the Rams want to keep pace with the Minnesota Vikings.

Prediction: Rams win, 27-24

Did you know that since 2013, the Seahawks have a 29-6 record over the final 7 games of the season? As much as I hate to say it, this Seahawks team is vastly improved since the Rams saw them in Seattle way back in October, and is 3-0 as they begin their stretch run of the final 7 games this season.Quinton Jefferson, Rasheem Green, Jarran Reed, and Poona Ford. These are the names of the Seahawks DL not named Clowney and Ansah who will wreck havoc with the young OL of the LA Rams on Sunday night.I hate to say it, but the facts are this. The Rams have not beaten a team with a winning record since week 2 against the Saints. Seattle wins this one.

Prediction: Seahawks win, 27-24

Matchups were tight against the Seahawks even when Jeff Fisher was at the helm. The Rams have won six of the last nine against Seattle, and three of the last four. Despite the struggles and inconsistencies, the present-day Rams can still hang with anyone and they’ll need to put it all together on Sunday night. It’s do or die.

Prediction: Rams win, 20-17

Staff pick summary: 6 picks for the Rams, 3 picks for the Seahawks
