The Los Angeles Rams bring back an old friend as they’ve signed LB Dakota Allen to their practice squad:

Allen was originally drafted in the 7th-round by the Rams, with the Oakland Raiders poaching him by signing Allen to their active 53-man roster on September 23rd.

Allen was a fan favorite as his story was an interesting one that included a stint on the television show “Last Chance U”. Allen proved to be worthy of his NFL shot, performing admirably in the preseason, leading many fans to be highly confused as to why the Rams elected to keep UDFA LB Troy Reeder on the active roster over Allen.

Fast forward to now, Allen returns to the Rams’ practice squad because the Raiders decided to cut him and add a veteran LB in Brandon Marshall. Allen will continue to develop on the practice squad, but he may have a shot at contributing on the 53-man roster at some point as the Rams have been short handed at ILB with Bryce Hager’s lingering injury.
