Los Angeles Rams rookie report: Monday night football edition

The LA Rams keep getting KO’d

Los Angeles Rams, you have been Lamar’d.

The 45-6 drubbing by 9-2 Baltimore Ravens left the 6-5 Rams gasping for air. It was akin to the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz heavyweight boxing bout. The Ravens went to the Rams’ body and gut often and did not let up.

The game was pretty much out of hand before the end of the first half. Call it a technical knock out in the early rounds.

However, we are here for the rookie grades. Here are last week’s, and here are Monday Nights’:

Rams Rookies

S Taylor Rapp

Taylor had his toughest game to date. But could you blame him? Ravens’ receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown burned him up the seam for a touchdown. Running back Mark Ingram and Lamar Jackson (and Co.) lit the team up for big runs.

Grade: D-

RB Darrell Henderson Jr.

Rookie running back Darrell Henderson did not get any action on offense. He did log in eight special teams snaps. Considering how the game went, it does not look like his presence would have helped.

Grade: D

CB David Long Jr.

The freshman corner from Michigan logged in seven defensive snaps and 18 more on ST. Not a whole lot of action, but things have been on the upward trajectory for Long.

Grade: C-

OL Bobby Evans

OG Bobby Evans started his second game of the season at right tackle. And that is about it for the rook — the offense was as piss poor as the score indicated.

Grade: D

DL Greg Gaines

Big Greg Gaines notched his first sack of the season — Yay!! He was an integral part of the D-line rotation, coming in early. In all, it was Gaines’ most active game — he took part in 28 snaps, and tacked on four total tackles.

Garde: C-

OL David Edwards

David started at right guard for the second consecutive game. Kudos to the big guy on a heads up play to recover a fumble by Jared Goff. But that was about the only bright spot.

Grade: D

S Nick Scott

Scott had his usual assignment locked down, partaking in 92-percent of the ST snaps.

Grade: C-

LB Troy Reeder

Troy technically started the game at inside linebacker, but he only was in for one single play. he did log in 24 (89-percent) of the ST snaps.

Grade: D-

OLB Natrez Patrick

“Trez did not get his number called this week. Patrick was on the game day inactives list.

Grade: N/A

WR Nsimba Webster

Nsimba was a casualty to the numbers game. He was a game day inactive.

Grade: N/A
