The Los Angeles Rams find themselves in a familiar fight in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The defense is playing quite well with DL Aaron Donald terrorizing things up front and the secondary clamping down. CB Troy Hill was targeted heavily early on, but his coverage eventually won out even if his ball skills weren’t very good especially on the touchdown to Steelers WR James Washington.

The more concerning issues are emanating from the offense. The line is struggling mightily. They haven’t opened much in the ground game at all for RB Darrell Henderson, Jr., and RB Todd Gurley isn’t getting much work. and QB Jared Goff is getting shellacked. You can tell it has had an effect on his timing and confidence to work in the pocket. Because they’re struggling on the ground, they’re going into too many third and longs...and haven’t converted a single one as the Rams are 0/8 on 3rd down.

It’s not pretty. Both defenses had touchdowns, but it’s going to take another 30 minutes to decide things. The hope has to be that the line goes from the F grade they earned in the first half into D or C range while the defense continues to make it tough on Steelers QB Mason Rudolph and their offense.

Let’s see what Rams Head Coach Sean McVay can summon out of this group to avoid a perilous start to the second half of the season...
