The Los Angeles Rams have been one of the healthiest (and maybe the healthiest) teams in the NFL since relocating back to LA in 2016. That trend has continued throughout 2019 as the Rams have lost very few significant starters.
That trend looks like it might take a pause in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers with the lengthiest initial injury report in quite some time:

We already knew LB Clay Matthews was going to be out as he’ll miss the next month or so with a broken jaw, but RB Todd Gurley, CB Aqib Talib and LB Natrez Patrick all were held out today with various injury issues. Not sure how this affects Gurley’s regular practice schedule as he’s been on-on-off for a Wednesday-Thursday-Friday routine that was already disrupted last week with the Rams on Thursday Night Football.
WR Brandin Cooks remains in the concussion protocol, but we’ll see how that progresses over the week. And LB Bryce Hager and S Taylor Rapp were limited in participation after both missed the Rams’ Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
As for the Niners, they have legitimate injury concerns of their own:

I mentioned earlier on the site today that 49ers RT Mike McGlinchey had his knee scoped and will miss the next month along with LT Joe Staley who is recovering from a broken leg. FB Kyle Juszczyk sprained his MCL and is also out for roughly a month. Without a backup fullback, the Niners tried out seven candidates today to replace him. CB Ahkello Witherspoon is a bit closer but might not make it into the side until November. And EDGE Dee Ford was a limited participant in the Niners’ win on Monday night over the Cleveland Browns. We’ll have to see how his quad fares, but I’d expect him to go this weekend.
Expect news from tomorrow’s update for the injury report.
