It’s hard sometimes.
It’s hard to decide when to and when not to. When to yes and when to no. When to cheer and when to yell.
The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks tonight by a few inches. The scoreboard said Rams 29, Seahawks 30. That’s a lie.
It was closer.
It was closer because the Rams clearly felt obligated to get RB Todd Gurley involved early. He surpassed his five carries in Week 4 in the opening minutes.
It was closer because QB Jared Goff looked much like his best self. At the end of both halves, Goff was cool under pressure sidestepping Seahawks and carving up the field. Whether it was outside to WR Robert Woods or inside to TE Gerald Everett or between to WR Cooper Kupp and TE Tyler Higbee, the offense looked...familiar. And comfortably able.
The defense wasn’t stellar. Four touchdowns from QB Russell Wilson is hard to praise, but some of Russ’ work tonight was unbelievably good.
And in the end, the win was there. It was ours for a taking.
But it’s hard.
Sometimes, it’s just really hard.
And that’s the point.
