If you’re paying attention to NFL.com’s QB index, then you won’t be surprised to learn that QB Jared Goff wasn’t given any credit for his 517 yards thrown last Sunday. Instead, his three interceptions and one fumble that was recovered for a touchdown seems to have sucked most of the oxygen in the room. Weird how that happens.
Falling one place from last week and now tied with QB Jameis Winston, Goff is viewed right now as inconsistent. Here is what else experts had to say about Goff’s week 4 performance:

Interestingly enough, Russell Wilson, tonight’s opposing quarterback, jumped one position to #2 with buzz that this is his best season yet. I will have to admit that I’m quite jealous of his zero interceptions. Goff should get into that racket — think of all those sad walks off the field that he won’t have to participate in!

It’s intriguing that they made a point to factor in the luck of being a QB in the NFL — Wilson’s tight throws, while very impressive in a highlight reel, could have gone south real fast. When you look at both quarterbacks, it could be argued that Goff is a victim of bad luck and circumstances beyond his control.
Has the ball bounced the wrong way too many times this season for Goff or is the struggle on him for the most part?
Regardless, another chance to turn it all around comes his way tonight in Seattle for Thursday Night Football.
