Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons first half live thread

The Rams look to end a three game losing streak on the road against the Atlanta Falcons

NFL: NFC Wild Card-Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams (3-3) head east in Week 7, taking on the Atlanta Falcons (1-5) on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST. Each team will hope to end a consecutive game losing streak this afternoon, with the Rams and Falcons having lost three and four straight, respectively.

It’s a must-win for the Rams today, as they find themselves firmly in third place in the division behind the still-undefeated (5-0) San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks (5-1). The Arizona Cardinals - who are only 0.5 game back of the Rams - face the New York Giants today. A loss for the Rams could spell being in last place in the division nearing the mid-point of the season.

The Falcons currently boast one of worst defenses - specifically in defending the pass - in the NFL. They’ll be without top cornerback Desmond Trufant today, so it would be nice to see the Rams’ offense return to form. Offensively, the Falcons do have a slew of weapons that will keep the Rams’ dinged up secondary busy. Buckle up, because we could be in store for a shootout in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Los Angeles heads to London to take on the Cincinnati Bengals next week, so today would be as good a time as any to start stringing together some victories if aspirations of winning the West, or simply nabbing a wild card spot, are in their future plans.
