And the hits just keep on coming.
The Los Angeles Rams have already been dealing injuries, especially to CB Aqib Talib that has him on the injured reserve, and now news has hit the Rams’ secondary even harder: S John Johnson III is also headed to the IR.
The Rams have placed safety John Johnson on injured reserve.

The “next man up” philosophy is now in play, as the depth for the Rams will most definitely be used after a brutal week 6.
There will be some help coming to the cornerback position with the addition of CB Jalen Ramsey. However, that also means that help will NOT be coming in the first-round in the next two NFL Drafts.
Back to Johnson, the safety initially got news that he would need to get surgery on his shoulder that he injured in Sunday’s game vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
As of yesterday, Johnson was reported to be seeking a second opinion. Coach Sean McVay said this about the injury: “That second opinion will predicate whether he’s available or he might end up missing some extended time.”
It turns out that Johnson will be missing some significant time. Rookie S Taylor Rapp could fill in during his absence, but the position is rather thin.
Let’s hope for a speedy recovery from JJ3.
