As if the past three weeks weren’t already tough enough for the Los Angeles Rams, they’re now planning on placing starting cornerback Aqib Talib on injured reserve per Adam Schefter:
Rams are now planning to place CB Aqib Talib on injured reserve due to his rib injury, per sources. Talib could return later this season.

Talib suffered a rib injury in Week 5, with the injury forcing him to miss the Week 6 contest against the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams now plan on placing Talib on IR with the potential to bring him back later in the year. The earliest return for a player placed on IR is eight weeks which both the Rams and Talib are familiar with as he suffered the same fate in 2018 when he was placed on IR after undergoing ankle surgery.
Troy Hill replaced Talib in Week 6 as the starting boundary corner, and performed admirably on short notice. Hill has plenty 49 games of NFL experience with 15 starts among them.
Look for Hill to replace Talib for the time being, with the potential for rookie David Long, Jr., to become active in the time being.
