In the least surprising news to ever be released, the Los Angeles Rams are apparently looking to extend the contract of Head Coach Sean McVay, per Jason La Canfora:

The only reason this news might have any ounce of surprise to it is because of the time element. Sean McVay signed a 5-year deal in 2017 when he signed on as the HC, so it could be considered quite early for an extension, though who’s going to argue? What McVay has done in a HC role in two years is pretty unprecedented as he immediately stepped in to a rough team, fixed it, established a culture, and won a lot of games.
McVay has coached for two years and has made the playoffs both years, going 11-5 and 13-3 in those two seasons. He’s the engineer of an offense that finished first (2017) and second (2018) in points per game in the league.
The Rams are on the brink of a Superbowl appearance barring a win today, which would only give more reason to get an extension done as soon as possible.
Let’s give McVay the Jon Gruden deal, yeah?
