As Championship Sunday creeps closer, an image of what the game will look like continues to draw into focus. Unfortunately for New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, he will be without a reliable target on Sunday.
New Orleans Saints tight end Ben Watson won't play this week against the Rams, according to a source. Watson missed two practices due to appendicitis, and while he's been able to avoid surgery so far, the team decided he'll be inactive this week. https://t.co/QO6AUnT2O3

TE Benjamin Watson caught 3 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown when the Los Angeles Rams came to town in November. It was his second highest receiving total of the season and given the Rams deficiencies at linebacker, he was likely going to be a threat on Sunday as well.
The Saints will look to Josh Hill and Dan Arnold to fill Watson’s shoes. The good news for the Rams is that neither is likely to be a big threat. The bad news is that this means WR Michael Thomas and RB Alvin Kamara will have larger roles in the gameplan - which is concerning because both absolutely torched the Rams back in November.
