This Thursday Night Football game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings has several weird qualities to it: it’s on a short week with both teams experiencing significant injuries, Jared Goff’s confidence is sky high, and Kirk Cousins’ confidence is currently hiding out in a bungalow on the beautiful island of Antigua. So, what gives? Are the Rams going to keep scoring over 30 points while their backup CBs do a pretty decent job holding up the fort?
Let’s get bold.
QB Kirk Cousins throws 4 interceptions and gets taken out of the game
I think Cousins is going to push the throws too much and S Lamarcus Joyner is due for a big game and this will be it. Desperate to prove that he’s worth his huge contract, Kirk Cousins wants to light it up on the national stage, but I feel that Grandpa Wade will have a game plan for this, which will ease up on the pass rush, trusting that Donald will eventually bust through the O-line and make Cousins nervous enough to force a stupid throw. And yes, Aaron Donald will get his first sack of the season this week.
QB Jared Goff backslides and plays very timid, getting sacked 5 times
The numbers will go down for Goff, as I believe that DT Sheldon Richardson and MLB Eric Kendricks will disrupt his ability to see the field and get his passes out in time. However, even with an ugly stat line, Goff will find a way to push through, throwing 1 TD pass for 130 yards.
DB Blake Countess takes a kickoff to the house
NFC Special Teams Player of the Week Blake Countess is ready to keep it going with an 80 yard kickoff return that will rock the Los Angeles Coliseum to its core.
WR Brandin Cooks will win the game for the Rams on a jet sweep
This very specific bold prediction will come true because I believe that Coach McVay is going to pull out all the stops in order to best the defense of the Vikings. The jet sweeps are working this season and Cooks has the speed to get around the linbackers and into the second level. Look for a dramatic play as Brandin Cooks leaps for the pylon in the final seconds of the 4th quarter, sealing the W for the Rams.
K Sam Ficken will not suck this week
How’s that for bold?
The Rams have themselves a tough challenge this Thursday and anything can happen. My bold outlook is the Rams will have their lowest scoring output for the young season, but will still grab the W. Rams win, 24-21
