The Los Angeles Rams defense will suffer a massive loss as the team will be without starting cornerback Aqib Talib who is placed on injury reserved and will undergo ankle surgery.

The injury was suffered in the third quarter last week against the Los Angeles Chargers. Prior to this news it was assumed that although Talib had suffered a high-ankle sprain and that he would only miss a month of action. The new expected timeline for Talib will make his return around the time of the Rams bye week which will be on Thanksgiving weekend.

The Rams are scheduled to play their next game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football. With the Rams also missing Marcus Peters as he recovers from his injury. The team will have Sam Shields, Nickell Robey-Coleman and Troy Hill fill the void. Also the Rams have promoted Dominique Hatfield from practice squad to the active roster.
