Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals 2nd half live gamethread

The slow burn of competency.

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams have gone into halftime with a 19-0 lead over the Arizona Cardinals because of one thing: competency.

The game so far has been a slow burn. The first two drives stalled out as the Rams established the ground game with RB Todd Gurley . That opened up the passing game for the first touchdown along with some great field position thanks to new punt returner JoJo Natson. The offensive line began to churn and the Rams finished with another touchdown thanks to their work up front punctuated by a perfect block by RG Austin Blythe on the touchdown run.

Defensively, it’s been relatively easy going. The DL has held the point of attack by filling running lanes. Penalties from Arizona have made things even more difficult for them. And the secondary has done enough to kill off all four drives.

I’m not trying to be rude to Cardinals fans, but competency makes things look easy.

In almost boring fashion.
