That does it. With today’s practice at training camp, the Los Angeles Rams are headed to Baltimore. Next week will include two practices with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday and Tuesday before the two face off in the preseason on Thursday.
Here’s how things went down today with the Rams set to hit the road:
Injuries
Well, we got some clarity here.
S Lamarcus Joyner was out again today with soreness in his Achilles, but he’ll travel with the team. Not joining them? TE Gerald Everett and EDGE Matt Longacre who are out with a shoulder and bicep injury, respectively.
Not the best development. For Everett, he’s a big candidate for a breakout year in his second NFL season. Hopefully, he’s back in the mix next Saturday when training camp resumes in LA after the preseason game. A prolonged absence obviously wouldn’t help.
For Longacre, it makes things very interesting on the outside. The Rams are already without DE/OLB Morgan Fox for all of 2018 having torn his ACL in late May. Rookie EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is still recovering after breaking his foot in the offseason program in May as well. And now Longacre is down. So while second-year EDGE Samson Ebukam will almost certainly get first-string looks, it opens the door for a lot of candidates to step up the ladder.
If the unofficial depth chart from the media guide for the preseason opener is any clue, and it might not be since it comes from the Rams’ communications department and not the coaching staff, Ejuan Price would be first up.

Big thanks to Eddie for those and more. And a good reminder to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Travel day tomorrow and then the joint practice action on Monday and Tuesday. The first day is likely to be kept in check. Neither team wants things to go overboard on day one.
Tuesday though?
Stay tuned...
