This is it, the official midpoint of training camp for the 2018 Los Angeles Rams. There have been seven practices in camp prior to today. After today, just seven remain.

But perhaps of more importance is that the Rams won’t be in LA again until a week from today when they return for camp at UC Irvine next Saturday. In between? Two joint practices, on Monday and Tuesday, and the preseason opener in Charm City on Thursday all with the Baltimore Ravens.

So this is the last intrasquad practice. After this, it’s a clash on every snap. No longer will the Rams’ offensive line go up against the defensive line. Rookies, UDFAs and fringe roster guys will be battling against actual opposition. Cornerbacks will be fighting wideouts downfield.

But let’s save that for next week...

Injuries

We’ve finally got some actual issues of concern now.

Coming out of Thursday’s session, the official list was still:

Physically Unable To Perform (PUP) List - Active
  • DE Dominique Easley
  • EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
Did Not Report (DNR) List - Reserve
  • DL Aaron Donald

But we now have a trio of players with injury concerns in S Lamarcus Joyner, TE Gerald Everett and EDGE Matt Longacre. We’ll see if any get an official injury designation, but with next week’s joint sessions sure to be more amped up and game action on Thursday, I’d be a bit surprised if any of the three are sincerely active today.

Offense

Last chance to install anything for next Thursday without giving it away to the opposition. Not sure how much that actually matters in the preseason, just saying.

Defense

The linebacking rotation remains fascinating especially if Longacre is a no go.
