Well, that’ll do it.

The 2018 preseason is over.

In terms of performance, the Los Angeles Rams were pretty overwhelmed by the New Orleans Saints throughout. The running game never got going with RB Nick Holley and RB Larry Rose III. The wideouts didn’t create much space for QB Brandon Allen or QB Luis Perez. And Saints QB Taysom Hill carved up the Rams’ secondary.

Does it matter? Not much.

The Rams didn’t play any of their starters meaning their Week 1 offense starting a week from Monday will have collectively played 0 preseason snaps save for whomever replaces suspended RG Jamon Brown. That’s quite radical.

But of course it will be validated or invalidated by what happens on Monday which likely will have little input from this evening’s events.

The Rams, like every other NFL franchise, are now staring down a deadline on Saturday at 4pm ET to reduce their 90-man roster to a 53-man roster. Practice squads can begin being formed on Sunday.

And then it’s on to football.

Meaningful football.
