A rash of reports emerged on Monday that the Rams and defensive tackle Aaron Donald are finally close to a new deal. Coach Sean McVay pushed back on the sudden momentum.
The Los Angeles Rams made a series of high-profile defensive acquisitions during the offseason. Defensive end Ryan Davis was not one of them.
Davis signed a one-year contract two days before training camp started, an addition that could prove to be just as significant as signing defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh and trading for cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters.
It’s been a long road back to professional football for Los Angeles Rams cornerback Sam Shields. A Pro Bowler in 2014 as a member of the Packers, Shields’ career quickly fell apart due to suffering repeated concussions.
