The Los Angeles Rams have waived OT Michael Dunn.
It’s a story we’ve seen before. The Rams added Dunn last June as a rookie UDFA out of Maryland. While he made the initial practice squad after the 53-man roster was announced, the Rams cut him soon after before even getting to Week 1 of the regular season. The familiarity though led to the Rams bringing him back in February in advance of free agency and the 2018 NFL Draft.
Perhaps we’ll see Dunn again. The back end of the roster is always in flux over the summer. With training camp still more than a month away, I wouldn’t be surprised at a handful of moves in the weeks ahead.
The move brings the Rams’ roster size down to 89 players. I’d expect a corresponding move to fill the gap to the 90-man allowable. NFL teams will be required to cut their 90-man rosters to 53-man rosters by 4pm ET on Saturday, September 1, just two days after every team plays their final preseason game on Thursday, August 30.
