I’m happy to introduce the newest group of writers for Turf Show Times. Get to know these guys!

Michael Frank

Where he’s from: Born and raised in Los Angeles. Been around the world twice but no place like LA.

How he became a Rams fan: Became a Ram fan from birth in 1989 with the indoctrination by my father. Our faith has never wavered through every year.

What area of the Rams interest him most: Massive on the draft. It is Christmas in April. Also, the scheme the HC, OC, and DC run and the HC’s philosophy. (Spags’ four pillars anyone? Lol jk)

The best thing he’s ever eaten: Meatballs with Italian enchiladas in an alley in Milan, Italy.

Kristian Ramirez

Where he’s from: I’m from the Inland Empire in California. Born in San Bernardino, Raised in Fontana and currently residing in the High Desert.

How he became a Rams fan: My fandom was forged in the fires of the Martz years and tested during the Linehan / Spag / Fisher years. I wasn’t much into sports before the GSOT era, but I wanted to impress my now wife, who may be a bigger fan than me.

What area of the Rams interest him most: I love the storylines between opposing teams, coaches (McVay v. Gruden anyone?), and players. With the coaching change, X’s & O’s are exciting again. And McBae. I’m all in on McBae.

The best thing he’s ever eaten: Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles. I don’t know what they put in those waffles, but I had dreams about them after I first ate them.

Skye Sverdlin

Where he’s from: Venice, California

How he became a Rams fan: I became a Rams fan when Eric Dickerson’s anti-drug program, Dickerson’s Rangers, took a bunch of us kids from Penmar Park in Venice to a Rams preseason game against the Seahawks in 1987.

What area of the Rams interest him most: I’m most interested the unknown-which players will fulfill their potential, which matchups will be won on Sunday, how one week (or season) can completely flip our perspective on everything we’d been talking about for months prior.

The best thing he’s ever eaten: My momma’s spinach lasagna

Scott Wagner

Where he’s from: I grew up in Manhattan Beach, California, lived in Seattle during the grunge years, and now reside in Portland, Oregon.

How he became a Rams fan: My Dad was a Rams fan, so I inherited them from him (something he has often apologized for). We’ve stuck with them through thick and thin, from LA to Anaheim to St. Louis and back, and they have brought us closer.

What area of the Rams interest him most: I’m a fan’s fan, and I try to capture the ethos and psychology of the team and the fan base with my writing. From Marshall Faulk to Lawrence Phillips, Greg Robinson to Orlando Pace, Scott Linehan to Sean McVay, I love the stories that define my favorite team.

The best thing he’s ever eaten: Panda Express Orange Chicken or Totino’s Taco Pizza. Coin toss. For real, though, probably a mixed tandoori grill I had at an Indian restaurant in Ao Nang, Thailand. Ridiculous.

Join me in welcoming the rookies to the staff for the 2018 season!
