Well this one is going to make a lot of Los Angeles Rams fans happy.
After stockpiling sixth-round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, Rams General Manager Les Snead spent two of them to come up in the fifth round to take:
Oklahoma Sooners EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
It’s an obvious fit. The Rams have space on the edge after trading OLB Robert Quinn to the Miami Dolphins and opting not to re-sign OLB Connor Barwin. Despite already having some functional talent at the position, adding Okoronkwo gives the Rams another name to work with and should make for a very intriguing battle at training camp. I’m not sure what role he’d assume. Would he be competing with OLB Samson Ebukam for one spot or would they be complementary? We’ll have to see.
The Rams met with Okoronkwo in March, so there’s already some familiarity.
If Misone’s scouting report on him is accurate, the Rams just got a good one.
