2018 NFL Draft Results: Los Angeles Rams select Michigan St. C Brian Allen

With the #111 pick of the draft, the Rams have continued to beef up their O-line.

Today’s gonna be a wild one, Los Angeles Rams fans. Stay on your toes.

Rams General Manager certainly is kicking things off with the #111 pick and taking:

Michigan State Spartans C Brian Allen

More O-line! After taking TCU Horned Frogs OT Joseph Noteboom yesterday, the Rams are dipping their toes in the offensive line waters yet again.

Is it needs-heavy to this point? Perhaps. LT Andrew Whitworth is 36-years old and C John Sullivan is turning 33-years old in August. Long-term (and maybe medium-term), the Rams needed help at both positions. So they may not have been immediate needs (i.e. for 2018), but they were needs nonetheless on the horizon.

As for Allen, he’s a beefcake. His brother, Jake Allen, played for the New Orleans Saints the last two years. So he’s got bloodlines. It’s just a question of applicability at this level and a timeline of when the Rams will look for him to take over the post-Sullivan center depth chart.

Welcome to the Rams, Brian!
