Woah! In an absolute shocker, the Los Angeles Rams have traded ILB Alec Ogletree to the New York Giants for draft picks that haven’t been disclosed yet:
And another trade: Rams trading LB Alec Ogletree to the New York Giants for two 2018 draft picks, per league source.

This is an absolute shocker because the Rams just recently handed Ogletree a long term extension making him the NFL’s third highest paid ILB. Ogletree has struggled with tackling as a Ram, though he offered plenty of splash plays and was a leader.
Here is the update on the Rams cap situation regarding Ogletree’s trade, per Jason Fitzgerald from OverTheCap:
#Rams will create $5.2M in cap room by trading Ogletree. #Giants take on $10M obligation for the year assuming no changes to the contract of course

This leaves the Rams with Mark Barron and incumbent Cory Littleton, though they may look to make a free agency splash. The Rams continue to extend cap space whether that means re-signing their own guys, or going out into the market and finding a ILB replacement.
The compensation will be updated when known, so please stay tuned for updates.
UPDATE (With compensation):
Compensation update: Giants are trading their fourth-round pick and their sixth-round pick in return for LB Alec Ogletree and the Rams' 2019 seventh-round pick, per source.
