The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly giving up a 2018 NFL Draft fourth-round pick and a 2019 NFL Draft second-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for CB Marcus Peters and their 2018 NFL Draft sixth-round pick. I haven’t seen it reported whether it’s the Chief’s natural sixth-round pick or the compensatory pick they were awarded this week for losing Super Bowl-winning QB Nick Foles in free agency to the Philadelphia Eagles.
So with a bit of uncertainty yet to clear up, here’s what they’re looking at for their draft order in about two months:
2018 NFL Draft LA Rams Order
Rd | # overall | # in round | Pick |
---|---|---|---|
Rd | # overall | # in round | Pick |
3 | 87 | 23 | Rams pick |
4 | 111 | 11 | Rams pick (via Dolphins) |
4 | 135 | 35 | Rams pick (via Giants) |
4 | 136 | 36 | Rams pick (via Patriots) |
6 | 176 | 2 | Rams pick (via Giants) |
6 | 183 | 9 | Rams pick (via Dolphins) |
6 | 194 | 20 | Rams pick (via Lions) |
6 | 195 | 21 | Rams pick (via Bills) |
Yes, you’ve got some gaps there. There’s the early 64-pick gap due to the Sammy Watkins trade sending the Rams’ second-round pick to the Buffalo Bills, and there’s the 73-pick gap now due to the Peters trade.
The Rams still hold their Day 1 pick, a Day 2 pick and a slew of picks in quick succession to add to the roster.
Oh, and we got Marcus Peters on the cheap.
