In an anticipated move, the Rams brought back Young after being waived to make room for EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo on the 53-man roster. A 2018 NFL Draft sixth-round draft pick out of Louisville taken with the 205th overall pick, Young appeared in two games for the Rams, starting one in which he recovered a fumble from San Francisco 49ers QB C.J. Beathard. The oft-injured Young missed the entire 2016 collegiate season with a dislocated and fractured hip and was also scratched from the Rams’ game with the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 with back issues.
G J.J. Dielman, originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 5th round in the 2017 NFL Draft, has yet to appear in an NFL regular season game. He spent nine days with the Rams last season, and was most recently on the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. Hopefully the 6’5” 309-pounder from Utah has some inside scoop on Seattle’s protections heading into the Rams’ Week 9 matchup.
