The Los Angeles Rams will get a little boost ahead of their Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Rams are planning to activate All-Pro returner and WR Pharoh Cooper (ankle) from Injured Reserve in advance of tonight’s game vs. the Chiefs, barring a last-minute change, sources say. He should return kicks and provide depth catching passes.
The Rams have been without Cooper for the last ten weeks, as he suffered an ankle injury in their season opener against the Raiders. In that same game, backup kick returner Mike Thomas also suffered a groin injury, and was promptly placed on injured reserve.
As Rapoport notes, Cooper should slide back in as the team’s primary kick returner and JoJo Natson - who’s done an admirable job as a return man - will maintain his role as a punt returner.
And with Cooper Kupp now on IR himself, Sean McVay may look to find a way to get Cooper, of the Pharoh variety, involved in the offense.
