The Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs are set to clash in Mexico City next Monday Night, and according to Vegas, the scoreboards at Azteca Stadium better be in great shape. In a season where league-wide offensive paces project new scoring and touchdown records, opening lines out of Vegas are historically high for this game, with the over/under set at 63.5. The line is one of only three games this century to be placed over 60 points. It may be the highest line of all time, but faulty record keeping leaves some uncertainty regarding that claim.

It’s fairly easy to follow the logic. The Chiefs are second in the NFL in scoring at 35.3 points per game, with the Rams right behind them at 33.5 points per game. When it comes to yardage the teams switch positions, with the Rams ranked second averaging 448 yards every Sunday, followed by the Chiefs at 423 yards per game.

When it comes to defense both teams have looked vulnerable at times, and are in the middle of the pack as far as points allowed, with the Rams surrendering 23.1 per game and the Chiefs giving up 24. However, the Chiefs are near the bottom of the league in yardage allowed, surrendering over 410 yards on a typical Sunday.

Scoring begets scoring, and this week Sean McVay and Andy Reid will likely be launching kitchen sinks at each other to keep up with the music, the really fast music.

What do you think?
