A Target Rich Environment

Any football fan can testify to how quickly bad luck can strike. All of a sudden.....
Cooper Kupp is out for the season. That is more disheartening than the loss in Louisiana. Hating to see anyone taken out of commission makes this bad enough. Thinking about how much he contributes to the Rams scoring machine has got to have some us screaming, "I've already served my purgatory time in 7-9"

That's the bad news.

On to the good news. Any arm-bearing-enthusiast Rams fans just might appreciate the following analogy. Jared Goff, if he has spent any time at firearm ranges, especially non-government approved ones, will give this an, "Amen!"

McVay and Co. have the Rams prepared for these inevitable injuries in football. They've provided Goff with a target rich environment. Brought to us by M. & C. are Cooks & Woods ( alphabetical order there ), two other big time play making Ram receivers. They also brought to us Josh Reynolds & Nick Williams out of Connecticut ( Go Ross! ) who have already more than adequately filled in as a 3rd receiver, have made plays and have shown that they can be gone to.

Then, of course, there is Just Todd. That he was averaging over 7 yards a carry against the Hawks and only carried 14 times is more evidence that the diverse Rams offense can hit you in many ways. Key on the ground they'll get you from the sky. There's also Malcolm, often In The Middle, sometimes On The Sideline Brown gathering up yards on the ground and in the air. That tight rope TD against the Saints was better than anything I saw back in my days as a gentleman's club member. And, as it turns out, we've come to see that we also have Tight Ends in Everett and Higbee that will get ya TD's.

Without even mentioning the O-line, there's Cooks, Woods, JT, Brown, Reynolds, CT Nick, Everett & Higbee. A combination of 5 out of those 8 are on the field every time Goff is firing off plays from McVay. Cupp being out is a loss, no doubt, but Yeah man, the Rams are still very much a scoring machine.

Coop will be missed on the field, but he's still with us and he'll find ways to contribute. He'll be on the sidelines with Aqib and others tweeting out things like, "Dimeeeee!"

John Sullivan caught a little hell for false starts yesterday, and yeah, those hurt, but surely there can be tolerance for jumping the gun by the guy feeding Goff the ammo in such a target rich environment.
