The New Orleans Saints are a very good football team and are riding a 7 game winning streak. Their quest to take down the Rams became a lot more difficult today when they received some unfortunate (for them) news as they prepare for the undefeated Los Angeles Rams.
#Saints rookie pass-rusher Marcus Davenport is expected to miss about a month with a toe injury, I’m told. After that, they’ll judge how it has responded. He’s in a boot now. Bad timing, as the first-rounder was really coming on.

As Rapoport leads on, Davenport was becoming more comfortable in his role on the Saints defense and had a pair of sacks against the Minnesota Vikings last week. The Rams are probably somewhat relieved that they won’t have to face the rookie pass rusher, as they struggled keeping QB Jared Goff upright at times in recent weeks.
The Saints would have loved to use Davenport to make Rams QB Jared Goff uncomfortable, but it looks like their task of taking down the Rams just got that much more difficult.
Look for Alex Okafor to fill in for the injured Davenport on Sunday.
