In a relatively surprising move, the Los Angeles Rams have waived RG Jamon Brown.
Brown was originally a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft starting 30 games for the Rams and playing in 41 total games. Brown was the starter in all 16 games in 2017 and originally was slated for the same role in 2018 until a suspension ensured he’d miss the first two weeks of the season and the emergence of stud backup RG Austin Blythe.
Brown’s release is relatively surprising because many fans thought he could fetch a late-round draft pick in a trade with the dire need of offensive lineman around the league. That seemingly was not the case as the Rams needed to create a roster spot for EDGE Dante Fowler Jr whom the Rams traded for today with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Brown will now be subject to waivers as he searches for his new NFL team.
