Well, here we go again. The Los Angeles Rams have made another set of moves (which seem to potentially spell the end of the merry go round), signing CB Kevin Peterson and TE Johnny Mundt to the practice squad, and releasing DE Louis Trinca-Pasat and OT Michael Dunn from the practice squad.
To make room for Mundt and Peterson, Rams terminated practice squad contracts of DL Louis Trinca-Pasat and OL Michael Dunn.— Gary Klein (@LATimesklein) September 5, 2017
Mundt had some unfortunate circumstances with an injury that kept him out most of the preseason, though the final week he scored a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers. It seems that was enough to keep him around.
Another UDFA CB makes the Rams team (albeit on the practice squad) in Kevin Peterson, who is actually a second year player. Peterson had a very solid preseason, and it’s earned him a longer look with the Rams.
In corresponding moves, the Rams released OT Michael Dunn (can find that article here already on TST) and third year UDFA DE Louis Trinca-Pasat. LTP has been with the Rams since 2015, though he suffered a torn ACL in 2016 that landed him on the season-long IR. LTP never registered any statistics with the Rams.
